Going in for surgery

Mom really needs your prayers today. We have just learned that she is headed back in surgery this morning for shoulder and hip repair. We were anticipating the hip repair and knew the shoulder might be a possibility so we are glad that she is strong enough for the doctors to want to go ahead and take her back in.

Though we are surprised by the sudden timing (she may be in surgery before dad even makes it to the hospital), I think it is just because we were unable to connect with the doctor yesterday. They feel like they can go in and repair the hip and try to make the socket tight so that she might not need any hip replacement in the near future. Please pray for the doctors who will be working on Mom today that they will have clarity of thought and precision of hand.

Dad will be at the hospital today (by 11 am) and probably for most of the day waiting for Mom to get out of surgery. I am back at work today though plan to get to the hospital this afternoon. If anyone can make it down I know he would appreciate the visit.

Thanks for your prayers.

I know these surgeries are nerve racking experiences but each one brings Anita a step closer to recovery. She is a fighter even now when sedated. We will continue to keep all of you in our prayers. Please call me if there is anything you need me to do.

Carwiles,
All of you are very much in my thoughts and prayers. I am glad to be able to have updates via the blog. It sounds like Anita is being the strong women that she has always been! I'm sure that her general good health and deep faith are bringing her strength even now!
Take care of each other and lean on the many friends who stand ready to help in any way we can.

Dear Friends,
We are praying continually in Birmingham. Mom is here with us as I just had baby Cade. We understand how hard it is to wait for healing and test results but we also understand the overwhelming feeling of the presence of God watching over us and the feeling of being uplifted by people praying on our behalf. So know that we are asking God to take care of you and Anita minute by minute and provide her with a Christmas miracle of healing and you all with peace and comfort that only He can provide. Anita is strong and very determined. She will fight hard on behalf of her family and grandchildren.

Know we are here if you need anything and we will get it done.

Saying many prayers today as she goes through surgery. The human body is an amazing thing and is able to overcome trauma and heal. I know it's hard for everyone as you wait day by day to see healing and improvements. As other friends have said in their posts, this is just one more hurdle she has overcome in the race to recovery!

Sending thoughts and hugs from Spartanburg.

Love and Prayers,
Halle & John
