I apologize to all the faithful readers who have been missing updates. We really didn't have much to update for the last two days, but, boy, did today make up for that. Eric and I are here in a collaborative effort to bring you the events of the day. After a long day of travel, Eric was finally able to make it to Atlanta to get in on the activity.
Let's start by saying we are negotiating a group rate at Atlanta Medical Center.
Dad is visiting with Mom this morning and gets a little light-headed. He goes to sit down on the chair and next thing he knows he is looking up off the floor at about 4 nurses gathered around him. He also got a little nauseous and agreed to go to the emergency room to be checked out. They determined he was dehydrated and he exhibited some signs of renal failure. He was admitted and is now spending the night on the fourth floor so he can continue to receive fluids and they will check his levels tomorrow. Mom's on the second so we got a good workout today going back and forth.
Now, not to distract from the exciting events with Mom. She had the ventilator tube removed this afternoon and is on her way to speaking. Right now, her voice is really soft and raspy, but I am sure by tomorrow she will be ready to go. She is still fighting an infection, but hopefully they will figure it out in the next couple of days so she can get in her shoulder surgery.
Thanks for your faithful support. We pray for some restful sleep for our whole family wherever they may lay their head this evening.
Ed and Anita

A nice night to remember

Boy, you guys are outdoing the Naccarato stories! I pray your dad is feeling better soon. Unfortunately when we are busy taking care of others we forget to take care of ourselves. Please take note of this Allison and Eric. I am going to sound like a mom but make sure you are eating and drinking plenty. You need your strength for your mom. Dad is in Pittsburgh for a funeral and mom is in Boston with Jenny and the twins. Just a reminder that no matter where we are we are all praying for your entire family.
Carrie
Yes, we are here too and continually read the updates on you all. Please take care of yourselves which is the easiest thing to forget.
Mom and I were just discussing how your mom's sweater caught on fire at the Naccarato Christmas party. We are looking forward to more funny stories ahead!!
Please give our love to your mom - we are rooting for her up here (and we have a pretty good track record right now with the Red Sox,
Celtics and Patriots!)
Love to all,
Jenny, Derek, Anna and Drew Gustafson
Cheryl Naccarato, too!
well not to be outdone by the Nacc. crew as we fondly say to save time and wordage, The Beirnes also remember many funny tales of our family get togethers. Please take care of yourselves. The caretaker forgets that way too often. Love and prayers from the third contingency of that yearly event!
Well Ed, at least you followed the best practices advice and sought care at the first symptoms. Now, which patient will manage to visit the other first to make sure proper care is being given? (And don't rule out Anita!)
Our prayers continue, even though it may seem as though we need a remedial course in praying. Persistence will win the day. In any case, our love to all, and persistent praying) whether confined to a hospital bed or currently among the ambulatory.
Anne and John
Thank you for the frequent updates. We are keeping you all in our prayers every day. Dana and Allen
