Dear Friends, No collaboration with Allison or Jonathan tonight, ed's turn to write.
It was a very uneventful day as far as blue eyes were concerned. Anita was a little more sedated than yesterday and not very aware of me visiting her. Sad for me and good for her, more rest and healing taking place. Temp. down again into double digits and breathing number up again with the machine doing less. Bonaza with doctors today, one called me back and one I ran into, in the hall. Trauma dr. says she is making good progress, breathing is doing well, probably will make sure she can breathe well enough so no decision about putting the ventalator back in will be an issue after it is removed the first time. Surgeon checks regularly to see if infection near left collar bone from possibly the intravenous connection is resoloved. Surgery on shoulder could be two to four days from now, but don't try to pin me or the dr. down on that one !
Bandage holding the ventilator secure in Anita's mouth, running toward her left ear, has been adjusted downward an inch or so, less pressure on her cheek under the eye so that it can open more easily.
Had to cancel our anniversary celebration trip to San Diago last night, scheduled for Jan 11th. We'll try again later in 2008. Thank you for checking in, more postings to come. stay with us in keeping the faith. ed

Thank you for update. Glad to hear today was a day of rest and healing. I know you want things to move quicker but I am praying that we all remember God's timing is perfect and His plans are precious and precise for each of us. Please don't look at it as canceling your anniversary trip. Just postponing until a better time for you and Anita!!!! Remember, jewelry is always a great gift!
Take care and know we are praying for you in Birmingham.

Ed great to hear from you. Poor Allison's fingers must be sore from all the typing!!! I check this blog several times a day so all updates are like little treasures for those of us far away. Keep them coming. Know our love and prayers are standing beside you always. Barb and Clark Beirne
Dear Ed,
So great to "hear" your voice and to know that your spirits are high. Like all other family and friends, I check the website often for progress reports. Our continued love, thoughts, and prayers are with you all as the healing continues! The strength that you, Allison, and Eric (and of course Anita!) have continues to amaze me! All the outpouring of love, care, and concern really shows that you ALL are an inspiration to so many.
Love and Prayers,
Halle & John Price
We just learned about this blog and are so grateful for these updates. Please know that we at the Atlanta Community Food Bank are all keeping Anita, and your entire family, in our thoughts and prayers.
